About
Jeff, our head
manager:

First I would like
to thank you for
taking the time to research your choice of a DJ for your event and
I'd like to introduce myself, I am Jeff Adams, the owner of
Elan-DJ.com. I feel it would be wise to let you know about my
background in this business. My father and mother owned a photography
studio and by age eight, I was accompanying them to all of their
weddings as their "go-for" (go get this-go get that, etc.) By age
fifteen I was a working musician playing my trombone in bands for
weddings and high-end convention parties in the Palm Springs area of
So. Cal. On weekends when I did not have a music performance gig for
a wedding or event, I was usually helping do the photography for an
event. After college, I worked on cruise ships for a year as both a
trombonist and DJ. Since moving to the Metro Baltimore/DC area, I've
been the DJ for numerous weddings and events. As you can see, I've
been around weddings and events most of my life. I know what works
and most importantly what doesn't. Because of this, I've established
a clear-cut approach to making your event a success.
Education & other supportive experience:
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Commercial Music, which required large portions of time proving proficiency behind the mixing console in the recording studio and at live concerts. Also required was a thorough understanding of acoustics. This translates to the fact that no matter where you are having your reception, I will achieve the best possible sound for that space.
I also have my Master's Degree in Music Education and was a high school band/choir director for a number of years in So. Cal. before winning the audition for the job mentioned in the next paragraph.
I am currently a member of the US Army's Top Jazz Band, the Jazz Ambassadors, stationed at Fort Meade. This is a permanent duty station meaning I can complete my entire military career in the Metro DC region.
